Your location notes stay yours

This Privacy Policy explains how Ortel handles your data. Last updated: February 17, 2026.

1. Data We Process

Notes you create in the app.
Location data you choose to attach to each note.
Civic address and place name lookups related to saved note locations.

2. How Data Is Used

To let you create, view, and organize location-based notes.
To show nearby notes and map context inside the app.
To sync your notes across your own devices through iCloud.

3. Storage and Sync

Ortel stores your notes on device and uses Apple's iCloud/CloudKit private database for synchronization. Your notes are associated with your Apple ID and are not publicly shared by Ortel.

4. Data Sharing

Ortel does not sell your personal data. Data may be processed by Apple services required for app functionality, including iCloud and location frameworks.

5. Your Choices

You can disable location access in iOS Settings at any time.
You can delete notes from within the app.
You can disable iCloud for Ortel in your Apple ID settings.
